| Women’s networking group turns 30 |
|
In 1979 women business owners in Phoenix were a rarity. Competing with the “good ole boys network” was a reality. A group of women got together and started their own business networking group to educate women on how to run their own business.
Thirty years later, that first women’s networking group in Phoenix is now known as IMPACT for Enterprising Women. To celebrate this milestone anniversary, the public is invited to attend a mixer event on Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Phoenix City Grille, southwest corner of at Bethany Home Road and 16th Street. The mixer is $10 and includes hors d’oeuvres and a no host bar. RSVP to cberklich@msn.com. Over its 30-year history, IMPACT has provided scholarships for women returning to school to enter the business world, celebrated successes of outstanding women business owners, and provided educational, networking and mentoring opportunities. Monthly meetings for IMPACT are held the last Friday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at the Phoenix City Grille. For more information, visit www.ImpactForEnterprisingWomen.org.
