Former Grandview students reconnect
Grandview’s class of 1953 held a 55-year reunion recently hosted by classmate Janice (Hunter) Hoeschler. Participants came from across Arizona and Utah to attend, sharing photographs and memories.

Members of Grandview School’s class of 1953 recently met up again to share memories and catch up on each other’s lives (submitted photo).

Grandview originally stood at 11th Avenue and Camelback, opening in 1930 as a one-room school with four grades and two teachers on land purchased from Joel Rice. The school grew throughout the years, becoming an upper grades school in 1965.
Grandview was remodeled in the 1990s when it was renamed Osborn Middle School. The original facade was saved when the building was razed, and can now be seen on an office building at 24th Street and Missouri Avenue.
