The Arizona Diamondbacks organization is accepting applications for the $100,000 School Challenge, presented by University of Phoenix, to benefit schools across the state of Arizona.

The program is open to all Arizona public, private and nonprofit charter schools, grades K-12. Teachers and administrators are encouraged to submit an application online at www.dbacks.com/schoolchallenge by Sept. 30.

With more than 2,500 applications over the past three seasons, the D-backs have been able to help 111 schools for a total of $550,000 since the program began. The $5,000 grants have helped schools from across the state with innovative programs such as vocational activities for special education students, digital sculpting for animation art classes, community gardens and after school fitness classes.
