The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, also known as Ro Ho En, invites the public to the 7th Annual Ikebana Exhibit, Jan. 29-31 at the garden, 1125 N. 3rd Ave.

Ikebana, the “way of flowers,” is the art of Japanese flower arrangement and is subtle, sensitive, sophisticated, and meditative. It utilizes flowers, leaves, and branches, as well as unexpected, unconventional materials.

A display of Ikebana arrangements will be exhibited throughout the garden, designed by talented Sogetsu Ikebana artists, teachers, and students. Activities this year are artist led tours, an arranging live presentation, demonstrations, hands-on experiences, and a reception with beautiful music.

Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. all three days. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students with ID, military members and seniors age 62 and older. For a full schedule of events, visit www.japanesefriendshipgarden.org. For more information, call 602-274-8700.
