Anyone who wants to burn calories and boost strength, then sip cocktails afterwards can check out free classes at the Village Health Club & Spa, 4444 E. Camelback Road.

The health clubs will offer “Kettlebells & Cocktails” classes that start at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24. Professional personal trainers will show participants how to do the top-10 kettlebell exercises in the classes. Class attendees will learn how to swing, squat, deadlift and shoulder press, as well as do other exercises. Working out with kettlebells is known to improve overall strength, core power, balance, flexibility and coordination, as well as burn fat and help people develop lean muscles.

Adults who take the 10 a.m. kettlebell class can enjoy mimosas afterwards while sangria will be served to participants after the noon class. Wine will be provided to adults who take the 2 p.m. class.
