It is kitten season, and the Arizona Humane Society is searching for volunteers who can foster orphaned kittens until they are ready for adoption (submitted photo).
As the hot summer months approach, along with an elongated kitten season, the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) is in great need of Foster Heroes to help pets while on the road to adoption. For orphaned, underaged kittens, fosters provide a second chance at life when their mama is no longer around to care for them.
AHS’ specialized Bottle Baby ICU provides around the clock care for the shelter’s tiniest patients as they are fed every few hours, weighed to ensure they are gaining weight and kept nice and warm. However, this is just a stopping ground for these tiny kittens until they are cleared to go into a loving Foster Hero home where they can grow big and strong until they are old enough for adoption.
Being an AHS Foster Hero is a lifesaving venture with cases that fit every family and lifestyle. By bringing in a foster pet(s), you allow AHS to continue caring for even more of the community’s sick, injured and abused pets by opening up much-needed kennel space.
