Handsome Hippo, a three-year-old Chow Chow, is a bit shy and is looking for a patient owner who will give him a lot of love and a forever home (photo courtesy of Arizona Humane Society).

Hippo is a handsome, three-year-old Chow Chow who came to the Arizona Humane Society as his previous owner lacked a home where he could bring him.

At first Hippo was a little hesitant and very afraid of people, prompting him to bark and want to distance himself from everyone. But after getting lots of love from everyone at the Humane Society and getting some attention from the behavior team there, Hippo has warmed up a lot. He could still benefit from a home where his owner is patient and lets him move at his own pace.

Meet hungry Hippo at the Arizona Humane Society’s Sunnyslope Campus at 9226 N. 13th Ave. His adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, as well as a microchip, current vaccinations and a free follow-up exam. For more information, call 602-997-7585 and ask for animal number 616623 or visit www.azhumane.org/adopt to see all the animals available to adopt right now.
