McDonald’s restaurants, including those at 7th Street and Townley Avenue and 19th and Northern avenues, will distribute free backpacks for the upcoming school year to needy families from 8 to 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 27.
This year the Desert Mission Food Bank will set up a Health and Safety Fair at the North Central locations. Parents will receive information about local health resources. The event is free; backpacks are available while quantities last and on a first-come, first-served basis.
