A “Month of the Military Child” Celebration Event will take place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at The Stratford, 1739 W. Myrtle Ave.

This free event is for children in grades kindergarten through 12 who have a parent or guardian who currently is deployed or has returned from service. Family members are invited as well.

The event includes games, crafts, face painting, and science and technology hands-on activities. Lunch will be provided.

Children ages birth to 5 are welcome but no childcare is provided and the activities are geared toward the older children. Pre-registration is required; call Teresa at 520-626-9085.

Month of the Military Child is funded by the U.S. Army and delivered by the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development.
