As a military dog, Coco Bean had to adjust to new homes. She even endured a long drive from across the country when her owner was transferred. But Coco was hardly fit for active duty, and when her owner was called to serve overseas, Coco reluctantly was handed over to the Arizona Humane Society.
Initially, the 6-year-old Cocker spaniel mix was very skeptical of strangers and life in the shelter was overwhelming for Coco Bean. With the help of AHS behavior modification program, Coco soon learned to trust humans and her personality has since blossomed.
This leash-trained pooch likes going for casual strolls around the park, mingling with other mellow canines, and she’s even housetrained. Coco is a warm, caring dog and at the end of the day she turns into a cozy blanket and will spend the entire evening on your lap.
Coco Bean is waiting for a home at the Sunnyslope Campus, 9226 N. 13th Ave. Her adoption fee is $110. For more information, call 602-997-7585, ext. 2045 and ask for animal ID number A499600.
Coco Bean may have been adopted by the time you reach the shelter, however, there are many dogs in need of a home and you can see them all by visiting www.azhumane.org.
