Tyrus “Ty” Bowman, a 2007 graduate of Sunnyslope High School, has joined the amateur scouting department of the Seattle Mariners Baseball Club. Bowman will be responsible for the coverage of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

Bowman is a graduate of the University of Arizona (Business Management Major with an emphasis in Sports Management). In May of 2015 he earned a law degree from the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law.

Bowman spent the last three years as a baseball operations/video intern, covering the minor league teams for the San Diego Padres Baseball Club. He most recently spent time assisting the operations and field staff at the Padres academy in the Dominican Republic.

Before joining the Padres, Bowman spent three years at the University of Arizona as the director of Baseball Operations. Business and baseball must run in the blood; brother Casey Bowman is a junior at the University of Arizona Eller School of Business and is on the baseball team there.

His parents are Clare H. Abel and Richard Bowman of North Central Phoenix.
