Just over one year ago, the owners of Mazvo Auto Repair gave into their culinary passions and launched the Flying Pigeon Food Truck, which has been spotted most weekends at farmer’s markets, street festivals and fairs, and other locations around town. During the week, the truck has been parked, silently waiting, at Mazvo Auto Repair, 4610 N. 7th St.

Demand has grown, and last month Shahe “Shawn” Koulloukian and his wife, Lena, introduced The Nest Café, a patio-like dining space adjacent to the repair shop, where diners can enjoy lunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. There are bistro-style tables and umbrellas, free WiFi, and piped world music to enjoy while dining on world cuisine or pick up an order to go.

Orders can be placed in advance via e-mail at myflyingpigeonfoodorder@gmail.com and online at http://theflyingpigeonphx.com, where you also will find the lunch menu, which includes an assortment of sandwiches and salads (vegetarian and vegan options available). Orders also can be placed in person but advanced ordering will save time.
