Shadow Mountain Senior Center, 3546 E. Sweetwater Ave., last month celebrated its new building signage, donated by Valley business Pearson’s Signs, 1904 N. Black Canyon Highway.

Interim Dist. 3 Phoenix Councilwoman Debra Stark was joined on Nov. 5 by area seniors, city staff and a representative of Pearson’s Signs at the senior center to dedicate a new, donated exterior sign for the facility. An open house followed the dedication.

“From my first coffee chat at the Shadow Mountain Senior Center, I heard from our senior community that they felt it was a shame to have such a beautiful building with great programs and no sign on the outside,” Stark said. “I reached out to our local sign community and Pearson’s Signs agreed to donate the sign to the senior center. This is a great example of a successful public private partnership with our local business and the city.”

The new sign is located on the south side of the center. Additional information about the Shadow Mountain Senior Center is available online at www.phoenix.gov/seniorcenters or by calling 602-534-2303.
