While many businesses have opened again after closing because of the COVID-19 crisis, Phoenix senior citizens still can obtain meals delivered to their homes.

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the city of Phoenix has closed its 15 senior centers temporarily due to the higher risk for COVID-19 complications because of age or underlying medical issues. However, staff members are delivering meals to seniors who had been receiving the food on-site at the senior centers. They are receiving frozen meals, fruit and milk brought to their homes by Selrico Services Inc., a city food vendor.

Senior centers employees also are contacting members every week to try to ensure they are emotionally supported.

In order to receive a meal, call the senior center where you are a member to arrange for a meal delivery. To find your senior center, visit phoenix.gov/humanservices/programs/older/senior-centers.
