Zookz is celebrating one year with a brand new liquor license, which allows the specialty sandwich shop to offer Bloody Mary’s, mimosas, screwdrivers, beer and wine.

The restaurant, located on the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Camelback Road in the Uptown shopping center, features a weekend breakfast special that includes a mimosa and a weekly toasted sandwich special for $10. Examples of special breakfast Zookz include eggs benedict with ham and fresh spinach, or chorizo, poached egg, avocado and queso fresco.

Wednesdays are “Mid Week Mac & Cheese Zookz,” which feature mac and cheese stuffed sandwiches like the Ham and Parmesan topped with Creamy Alfredo Mac & Cheese. Zookz’ Wednesday special includes a house-made side plus a fountain drink or freshly brewed tea for $9.75.

In addition, Zookz has recently added gluten-free bread made by local bakery, Gluten Free Creations, for those with gluten sensitivities.

Zookz is open 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Delivery is available. For more information, visit www.zookzsandwiches.com or call 602-279-0906.
