Celebrate International Archaeology Day on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Phoenix’s only preserved archaeological site, Pueblo Grande Museum, 4619 E. Washington St.

Enjoy archaeology activities, crafts, and more available throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Archaeology aficionados of all ages will have the opportunity to witness preservation techniques on the prehistoric platform mound, participate in a simulated archaeological dig (kids event from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.), and do hands-on crafts inspired by archaeology and southwestern cultures (10 a.m.-4 p.m.).

Interpretive stations throughout the site, and artifact show-and-tell stations will be available during the day. And don’t forget to grab a piece of frybread for lunch from the Yellowman Frybread food truck.
