This 3-year-old Papillon mix got her name from her condition of “cherry eye,” which has since been fixed by surgeons at the Arizona Humane Society’s animal trauma hospital (submitted photo).

Cherry is a sweet, 3-year-old Papillon mix with a dainty appearance who came to the Arizona Humane Society as a stray. While she is a little shy initially, she quickly warms up to people with patience and lots of treats.

The cute pup got her name because of her condition of cherry eye, which was treated with surgery at the Arizona Humane Society’s animal trauma hospital. Cherry has been doing much better physically since her picture was taken. A perfect day for her would involve her favorite human being petting her adorable, fluffy ears while she sits in their lap in her future forever home.

Meet Cherry at the Arizona Humane Society’s Sunnyslope Campus at 9226 N. 13th Ave. Her adoption fee includes  vaccinations, a microchip, spay surgery and a free follow-up wellness exam. For more information, call 602-997-7585 and ask for animal number 610924 or visit www.azhumane.org/findapet to see all animals available for adoption.
