You can help homeless animals by shopping online or buying and dropping off donations.

The Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) needs items to help provide for the health and wellness and the behavioral and emotional needs of animals in its care. The non-profit organization’s mission is to provide great care, protection and compassion to animals entrusted to it and to take a leadership role in promoting humane values to benefit all animals and people.

Some of the items the organization needs include Purina Kitten Chow, Royal Canin canned kitten food, Royal Canin Puppy dry food, Pro Plan canned kitten food and baby food (either turkey or beef but no onion powder). AAWL also needs fragrance-free laundry detergent, bleach, hand sanitizer, metal spade and scoop pooper scoopers, as well as Feliway spray and plug-ins and bath towels. It also could use PetSafe Martingale collars of all sizes, but preferably small, 6-foot nylon leashes, small litter boxes and durable rubber dog toys.

Donations should be dropped off at the Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays at 25 N. 40th St. You also can make a donation through various websites including www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist. To learn more, visit https://aawl.org.
