The Clayton on 12th, a new 34-unit apartment complex, is nearing completion on the northeast corner of 12th Street and Highland Avenue (submitted photo).

Tentatively branded as The Clayton on 12th, the 3-story building includes 34 one- and two-bedroom apartments. Amenities will include private, secured assigned parking (including bottom floor garages), separate locking storage rooms for each apartment, large pool area with pool, hot tub, barbecues and fire pits, and a small business center.

According to the developer, Clayton Companies, the floor plans are larger than most found around town “and very well thought out by our architect,” shared Max Frenkel, representative with Clayton.

“All of our 2-bedroom units have two full master bedrooms, and most come with an extra powder room for guests. Balconies are oversized and offer terrific views of the surrounding area, distant mountains, and downtown Phoenix.”

Frenkel added that while the apartments themselves will be upscale in terms of size, finishes, etc., the price per square foot will be somewhere between midrange and upscale.

“We try to keep prices reasonable and value good, long-term tenant relationships over top dollar rent in some cases. We own and manage all of our own real estate, and so tend to build our complexes to a higher caliber than some other developers looking to fill the complex up and sell it.”

Clayton Companies will serve as property management; the architect is K&I Homes, and the builder is Pono Construction. For additional information, call 480-423-5772 or visit www.claytoncompanies.com.
