North Central’s Popat Orthodontics & Madison Pediatric Dentistry is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Founded in 2014 by Dr. Rishi Popat and his wife, Bansi Popat, the practice, located at 635 E. Maryland Ave., provides orthodontic treatments and comprehensive pediatric dental care to area families.

Dr. Rishi Popat, a North Central Phoenix native and Harvard-trained orthodontist, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his practice. He says that his commitment to providing personalized care and achieving exceptional results is evident in the positive outcomes of his patients. Popat also serves as assistant professor of Surgery at University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix as co-director of their Oral Health Initiative. Bansi Popat, a Harvard MBA, complements her husband’s clinical expertise with her business acumen, ensuring that the practice operates efficiently and effectively.

The son of Bipin and Anila Popat (owners of Tony’s Cleaners & Tailors), Popat knew that he wanted to be an orthodontist at age eight when a customer who was an orthodontist invited him to spend a day at his practice.

“It is personally satisfying to diagnose, design and handcraft custom smiles based on one’s face, teeth size, shape, and patient’s specific and individual concerns,” he said, adding, “We are incredibly grateful and thankful for the continued support we have received from our patients and the community over the past 10 years. It is our privilege to help our patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles without the anxiety and fear of going to the dentist. It is a blessing to come back to my neighborhood and take care of my friends and their children.”

Popat and his wife have two daughters (Aashna, age 10) and Aaria (age, 6) who clients will find at their practice after school doing their homework or helping at their parents practice making retainers or filling up the refreshment bar.

Over the past decade, the practice has achieved significant milestones, including offering a wide range of orthodontic treatments, such as traditional metal and ceramic braces and Invisalign for teens and adults. The practice strives to remain at the forefront of orthodontic technology, investing in state-of-the-art equipment such as digital X-rays and digital intraoral scanning to provide the most advanced care possible. Pediatric dental patients and their parents may enjoy having TVs on the ceiling so they can watch their favorite Disney movie while having their teeth cleaned and examined by Dr. Dalyann Ferrie, board certified pediatric dentist at the practice.

To commemorate the 10-year milestone, the practice will provide complimentary Invisalign consultations for teens and adults as well a complementary tooth whitening after they complete their orthodontic treatment until the end of the year.

Popat Orthodontics & Madison Pediatric Dentistry is dedicated to giving back to the community. Over the past 10 years, their practice has donated over $125,242 in community sponsorship, donations, pro bono orthodontic and pediatric dental treatment for patients and families with financial hardships.

“We believe in the importance of giving back to the community that has supported us,” said Bansi Popat. “We are committed to making a positive impact on the oral health, wellness and lives of others.”
