Hello, North Central neighbors!
November is here and this month’s issue marks the 25th anniversary of North Central News! Our fearless leader, Publisher Tara Blanc, reflects on how we came to be, what we do, and those who have been an integral part of the publication along the way. Turn the page to read her message to you, our readers. But first…
For this month’s cover stories, Trudy Thompson Shumaker writes about the various parades that North Central hosts each year, and speaks to residents who love them – even if grudgingly – and I break down some of the possible changes and updates to development standards along Phoenix’s light rail corridors.
In Community, we look at how area neighbors joined forces to advocate for reasonable development in their neighborhood and the critical need that prompted Arizona Humane Society to reopen its Sunnyslope Campus.
For this month’s Café Chat, Marjorie Rice caught up with Jason Raducha, owner and founder of Noble Bread and Noble Eatery, who talked about his journey from Easy-Bake Oven to a go-to source for baked goods at many of the Valley’s top-tier restaurants.
As always, you will find the Arizona Humane Society’s Pet of the Month (this month, bonded bunny sisters, Big Fluffy and Mini Fluffy) as well as other community, business, dining and school news, and our round-up of things to do in the Valley this month in the Arts & Entertainment section.
We hope that you enjoy our November issue. Until next month, all my best,
Kathryn M. Miller
