Happy New Year, North Central neighbors!

As we roll into 2025, our resolution is to help our neighbors become better connected with one another. Community connections take time and effort – but they are worth the investment because the result can be stronger, more cohesive neighborhoods. And when issues arise, collective voices and actions can address them more effectively than the individual.

There are many amazing North Central community and neighborhood organizations out there that are doing the heavy lifting of working to make our neighborhoods safer and more connected, and we highlight two of them on our cover this month – there are more stories to come.

We would also love to hear from residents about how you are doing and the issues facing your neighborhoods. How do you currently connect with neighbors, what might be missing? Go to https://bit.ly/NorthCentralNeighbors2025 and let us know!

But first, in this month’s issue, Trudy Thompson Shumaker writes about the beginnings of John C. Lincoln Hospital as HonorHealth celebrates 70 years; Marjorie Rice gives us an update on the latest news from The Genuine in Café Chat; and we introduce you to Chewy the Chihuahua; along with other community, business, dining and school news, and our round-up of things to do in the Valley this month in Arts & Entertainment.

We hope that you enjoy our January issue, and until next month, all my best,
