The North Central Women’s League (NCWL) kicked off their annual new membership drive in February and will continue seeking members through May 31.
NCWL focuses on collectively assisting select charitable organizations, local schools, and neighborhood programs through volunteerism and fundraising activities. Enriching opportunities for volunteers include Sunnyslope Elementary School, Native American Connections, Hope Women’s Center, Keys to Change, Phoenix Assistance League and Phoenix Adopt-a-Street.
One of the nonprofit’s missions is to help end poverty through education. Since created in 2016, NCWL has raised nearly $65,000 for their Kenna Finch Memorial Scholarship Program, awarded to selected graduating seniors at Central High School and Sunnyslope High School.
To support their efforts, their spring fundraiser will offer a Pickleball Tournament & Auction, on Saturday, March 29, 3-7 p.m. at the Phoenix Country Club, 2901 N. 7th St. The tournament is open to the public and will include levels of competition and award categories. For those not competing, there will food, drinks, raffles and silent auction items.
