For the third consecutive year, Spinato’s Pizzeria & Family Kitchen, in partnership with the Kenneth Anthony Spinato Foundation, is issuing “The Kindness Challenge” to its guests to help homeless individuals and raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul. The fundraiser runs through the month of September, National Kindness Month.

Spinato’s team members and other volunteers are working to create several hundred Kindness Bags full of toiletries, snacks, water, socks and other items. Restaurant guests are encouraged to purchase the Kindness Bags for a $5 donation and distribute them to someone they see who is in need. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit St. Vincent de Paul.

On Monday, Oct. 20, Spinato’s will take the kindness challenge a step further by making fresh pizza in St. Vincent de Paul’s kitchen and serving it to the guests of its family dining room.

Diners who stop by Spinato’s from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31, also can enjoy the “WOZ-Inspired Pizza,” created with spicy chipotle peach sauce, mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, red onion, sliced peach, ricotta cheese and fresh basil.

For the past three years, Spinato’s has collaborated with popular pizza and beer influencer Steven Larson, known as The Wizard of Za, and a local brewery, this year it is the female-owned The Hundred Mile Brewing Company, to create a delicious limited-time pizza and craft beer pairing.

The pizza is paired with a peach Hazy India Pale Ale (IPA). The craft beer is dry hopped with Nectaron hops from New Zealand that give off a nectarine and peach flavor, fresh peach puree and bright citrusy bittering hops. A large “WOZ-Inspired Pizza” costs $30.25 and a pint of the special Hundred Mile craft beer is $6.50.
