Sunnyslope Community Center, 802 E. Vogel Ave. will host a back-to-school event Saturday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Area families are invited to attend to receive a new backpack and school supplies, get a fresh haircut before the new school year and learn about community resources that are available – all for free. Several city of Phoenix departments, local nonprofit organizations and nearby schools will be in attendance to talk to community members, and arts, crafts and face painting will add to the fun.
