The Area Agency on Aging’s State Health Insurance Assistance (SHIP) Programs help residents navigate the complexities of Medicare, and on April 1, the organization is teaming up with the Phoenix Public Library for an online presentation of “Medicare 101: Navigating the Complexities.”

During the event, held from 4:30-6 p.m., participants will learn about how the organization provides local, in-depth, and objective insurance counseling and assistance to Medicare-eligible individuals, their families, and caregivers. Topics include how to find help, out-of-pocket costs associated with Medicare, health or prescription drug plan options, eligibility questions, individual rights and more.

This program will be presented online using Webex. Registration is required. Registered participants will receive an email with instructions on how to join the meeting. Visit www.phoenixpubliclibrary.org and click on the “Calendar” tab, then search “Medicare” for upcoming events. Contact the library at 602-262-4636 with questions.
