From fishing trips, Valentine’s Day celebrations and Black history presentations to dance party, theater and picnic trips, there is a lot happening at the city of Phoenix’s senior centers this month.
Members at the Devonshire Senior Center, located at 2802 E. Devonshire Ave., will take a fishing and lunch trip to Chaparral Park, Feb. 2; enjoy a “Grease”-themed dance party, Feb. 13; celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Helen Drake Senior Center, Feb. 14; and enjoy lunch and shopping at The Plant Stand of Arizona, Feb. 27.
The special events are held in addition to daily activities and regular programming, including computer lab, chair yoga, documentary films, art classes, nutrition classes, brain games, mahjong, walking club and first Monday Memory Café events.

Over at Sunnyslope Senior Center, located at 802 E. Vogel Ave., members will enjoy a Herberger Theater experience, Feb. 5; a Black history presentation, Feb. 10; a “Grease” 1950s dance party trip, Feb. 13; and a picnic trip to Cesar Chavez Park, Feb. 26. Memory Café will be held Feb. 5.
These events are in addition to regular programs such as laptop lab, Geri-fit, chair yoga, writing class, ukulele, dance, cards and games and more.

Programs and activities are offered at the city’s senior centers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Membership gives residents access to all 15 Phoenix senior centers.
