The Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority (RPTA) and Valley Metro Rail (VMR) Boards of Directors have elected officers for the Fiscal Year 2026 term of July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The boards set policy direction for the Valley Metro transit system seeking to provide high quality and cost-effective regional transit services to more than 130,000 daily riders.
Valley Metro Rail Chair is City of Phoenix Councilmember Laura Pastor. Pastor will also serve as the Valley Metro RPTA Board Treasurer. Valley Metro RPTA chair is City of Tempe Councilmember Jennifer Adams. Adams will also serve as the VMR Board Vice Chair.
“I’m deeply honored to step into the role of Valley Metro Rail Chair,” said Pastor. “As we look to the future, I’m committed to advancing the work my father, Ed Pastor, led in creating a transit system that is innovative, inclusive and built to serve our growing region for generations to come.”
