In 1992, 12 News and the Bashas’ Family of Stores partnered with St. Vincent de Paul to host the very first Turkey Tuesday drive. Since then, it has grown into the largest one-day turkey drive in the country, providing thousands of turkeys and holiday meals to families in need around Arizona each year. This year, the nonprofit is reaching out to residents to offer a brand-new way to make an even bigger impact.
Community members are invited to rally their friends, family and co-workers to hold a fundraiser in advance of Turkey Tuesday. From now until Nov. 25, residents can host their own digital fundraiser to support families who need help this Thanksgiving.
The nonprofit says, “It’s easy, fun, and meaningful – and you can make it your own.” New this year, those who raise $100 or more will get a free State48 shirt.
