Locally-owned restaurant group POV Foods is partnering with animal rescue organizations to host pet-friendly adoption events and fundraisers in honor of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, Thursday, April 30. The events will be held at several of its Arizona restaurants, all known for welcoming dogs on their patios.
The events invite guests to meet adoptable pets, support local rescue groups and enjoy food and drinks while spending time with their four-legged friends. Each location’s patio is designed with pups in mind, featuring artificial turf areas and playful toy fire hydrants where dogs can relax alongside their owners.
In north Phoenix, 32 Shea will host an adoption event beginning at 4 p.m. on its dog-friendly patio with live music and local pet vendors. Participating partners include Home Fur Good, Desert Dog Project and Pet Supplies Plus, which will host a booth and provide donation bags for new adopters.
Same-day adoptions may be available at the Phoenix event depending on the interview process. Adoption fees typically range from about $150 for senior dogs to $250 to $350 for younger dogs, with some purebred dogs priced higher.
The eatery will provide water, pup cups and complimentary lunch or dinner entrees to guests who adopt a dog that day.
