The newly formed Metrocenter Mall “Walk ‘n Talk” walking club held its kick-off celebration in the mall’s food court on Aug. 20.

Walk ‘n Talk is provided access to the mall seven days a week, via the Harkins Theatre entrance. The group meets and begins walking at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and at 9 a.m. on Sundays.

“Metrocenter has always welcomed walkers, and we appreciate that support,” said Frank Steinmetz, a founding member of the group. “They’ve allowed us to create a fun framework for exercise in a safe, convenient and climate-controlled environment—something that means a lot in Arizona.”

Mall management also has pledged to host regular, health-related educational programs in its Community Room.

“This partnership speaks to the heart of our core values,” said Metrocenter Mall Marketing Director Deb Jacupke. “We are here to provide a quality experience for our shoppers and to always be that dependable resource that the community can count on. It will be exciting to see these principles reflected through the Walk ‘n Talk program.”
