The Madison Elementary School District Governing Board voted in December to enter into contract negotiations with Dr. Kimberly Guerin, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for the Scottsdale Unified School District, to serve as Madison’s next superintendent. Pending the result of successful contract negotiations, the board is expected to officially approve Guerin as the next superintendent effective July 1, 2022. The board made its decision based on its lengthy evaluation of three highly qualified candidates, considering feedback from all stakeholders.

Prior to her current role, Guerin served the Paradise Valley Unified School District as the assistant superintendent of leadership – elementary, director of elementary education, assistant director of curriculum and principal of Echo Mountain Elementary School. Guerin regularly leads sessions on the topic of effective leadership at both Arizona School Administrator and Arizona School Board Association conferences.

Guerin grew up in the Valley, graduating from a neighboring school district. She and her husband Jeff, who is a Madison alumnus, have two children, a daughter and a son.

Madison’s current superintendent, Dr. Kenneth Baca, will retire at the end of this school year after four years of dedicated service to the district.
