MHP recognized for FAFSA completion

Madison Highland Prep has been awarded third place for the highest completion rate in its enrollment category as part of the statewide Arizona FAFSA Challenge for the 2024-25 school year. The honor was given at the 2025 Arizona FAFSA Challenge award ceremony.

As part of the recognition, the school received a generous donation from Cox, which gifted three Madison Highland Prep students, Jonathan Lopez, Fernando Morales and McKayla White, an iPad to aid them in their post-secondary education journeys. Additionally, Madison Highland Prep received a signed certificate from Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and Arizona Board of Regents chair Cecilia Mata.

The importance of FAFSA completion cannot be overstated, the school said, as it directly impacts students’ access to higher education opportunities. By completing the FAFSA, students are more likely to enroll in college and obtain a degree.

Brophy lost to Hamilton earlier in the season, 5-4, and dropped a match at Catalina Foothills. The team finished the season with a 21-4 overall record and a 16-2 mark in Arizona.

The Brophy track and field team finished 21st at the AIA Open Division State Championships, May 16-17, with 11.5 points.

Students embrace faith in meaningful ceremony

In a ceremony that highlighted the spiritual journey of 10 young women, Xavier College Preparatory celebrated one of its largest groups of students receiving Catholic sacraments in recent years.

During an all-school mass and Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, these students celebrated their formal entry into the Catholic Church through the sacraments of baptism, first communion and confirmation.

Father Elario Zambakari presided over the ceremony, which was witnessed by the entire student body, faculty and staff.
