North Central resident Edward J. Donahue, M.D., has been named Chief Medical Officer of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Part of St. Joseph’s team for more than 30 years, Donahue previously served in several leadership positions at the hospital including chief of Surgery, chair of the Cancer Committee, and vice chief of Staff.
Donahue, who opened a surgical practice in Phoenix in 1984, has been devoted to caring for women with breast cancer and disease. He founded the Breast Evaluation Clinic at St. Joseph’s and served as medical director of the hospital’s cancer center for six years.
Donahue earned a medical degree from Temple University, a Master of Science in Surgery from the University of Illinois and underwent surgical training at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago.
