New York-native Radic Abayev has always been interested in the medical field but chose a different path for his work life. He fell in love with Phoenix after visiting some friends and decided it was time to make a move to a new home and a new career.

Abayev started Ambulex, a non-emergency medical transport business based in Sunnyslope that takes those with limited mobility or who are non-mobile to their doctor’s offices, physical therapy appointments, and more.

“In this business I’ve learned one thing––being there on time with a smile on your face makes our customers feel a little bit better and helps them think of our drivers as friends they can talk to and have a laugh with for a few minutes,” Abayev said.

Ambulex works with individual customers and assisted living facilities and nursing homes. All vans and drivers are fully insured. The eight-van fleet can serve patients in wheelchairs as well as those who require bed-to-bed transportation in stretchers. Ambulex serves the communities of Central Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, as well as Deer Valley and northeast Scottsdale.

Transportation can be reserved as little as 12 hours ahead of time. For more information, call 602-460-1080 or e-mail ambulex411@gmail.com.
