Learn to grow vegetables in pots on your patio or balcony at “Patio Veggies: Growing Food the Urban Way,” 12-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at Desert Song Healing Arts Center, 3232 N. 20th St.

Join Master Gardener Kari Spencer of The Micro Farm Project for this informative class about container gardening. Container gardens are a wonderful way to overcome issues like hard soil, lack of space, and a shortage of water in order to grow beautiful ornamentals and productive veggies in our urban environment. Fun and easy for aspiring and seasoned gardeners alike, container gardens offer flexibility and manageability that in-ground gardens lack.

Each class is $15 and an RSVP is not necessary. For questions, e-mail themicrofarmproject@gmail.com.
