The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety recently awarded $10,000 to the Street Transportation Department to help fund the department’s on-going bike safety initiatives for school students. The grant will be used to produce a series of bike safety education comic books for primary school students and to purchase bicycle helmets for students that participate in the city’s annual Bike to School events.
