Students from seven public and charter elementary schools were chosen in the 10th Annual Valley Metro Cool Transit STUFF 3rd grade art contest. Third grade students across the Valley were asked to design artwork showcasing this year’s contest theme, “Valley Metro… It’s How We Roll.” The winning artwork is displayed in a calendar that is distributed to Valley transportation leaders and the general public.

For the 2015 calendar, more than 400 schools participated and 335 students entered. Abby Rojeski’s drawing is featured on the January page of the calendar, and Ana Payan of Madison Camelview Elementary was given an Honorable Mention.

To celebrate the growing community involvement and the 10th anniversary, the 2015 calendar includes a commemorative card featuring Best of Show winning artwork from 2005 to current.

The contest is an annual program that incorporates the communities Valley Metro serves. The goal is to generate excitement about public transportation and highlight how transit helps to improve air quality and reduce traffic congestion.
