The Social Security agency’s 80th anniversary will be commemorated on Aug. 14, the date of the signing of the Social Security Act in 1935.

To engage the public, Social Security launched a commemorative 80th anniversary website, where people can learn more about the agency’s legacy and the importance of the Social Security program. The website can be used to submit stories that show how Social Security has benefited members of the public or their families.

The website also features trivia, a timeline of Social Security throughout the years, videos, and more. For more information, visit www.socialsecurity.gov/80thanniversary.
