The Love Your Block PHX mini-grant program is accepting applications from neighborhood groups in the initiative area through Nov. 18. In the north Central area, the initiative boundaries include 23rd to 7th avenues south of Bethany Home Road. From Camelback to Indian School roads, the eastern boundary extends to 7th Street.

Love Your Block is a mini-grant program that awards $1,000 to five neighborhood groups in low-to-moderate income areas of Phoenix to make the changes they wish to see in their neighborhoods through volunteer-driven revitalization projects. To see if your neighborhood is within the boundary and to apply, visit www.phoenix.gov/volunteer and click on “Love Your Block.”

Past projects include alley cleanups, mural paintings, installing storefront planter boxes, installing Little Free Libraries, painting irrigation boxes, and planting a butterfly garden.

Love Your Block is in its second year and is now accepting applications for the next round of projects, which will be completed in the spring of 2017. For more information, visit phoenix.gov/volunteer, call 602-262-4790 or e-mail loveyourblock@hpnphx.org.
