More than half of the animals that arrive at the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) are rescued as injured strays. So it was with Freddy who mistakenly wandered away from home one night. Startled by the unfamiliar sights and sounds, the British Shorthair mix dashed out into the dark road and was struck by a passing car leaving him unconscious and lying in the middle of the street.

Thankfully, a Good Samaritan noticed him and soon Freddy was in the care of the highly skilled medical staff at AHS. After several weeks of recovering from wounds, this inquisitive and people-oriented 3-year-old is ready to curl up on a warm lap and spend the rest of his life as a pampered housecat.

Freddy is available now at the Sunnyslope Campus located at 9226 N. 13th Ave. His adoption fee is $40 and includes his medical treatment and vaccinations. He may have been adopted by the time you visit the shelter, but there are many other pets in need of a loving home and you can see them all by visiting www.azhumane.org.
