Half Moon Windy City Sports Grill, 2121 E. Highland Ave., is looking for the Valley’s best home chefs to share their wing sauce recipes and compete for the 2016 title of Half Moon Sauce Boss.
All winners—first place, runner up and People’s Choice—will receive one free pound of wings every day for a year at Half Moon. First place and People’s Choice winners also will receive cash prizes and have their sauces featured on a future Half Moon menu.
The competition will culminate at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2. Half Moon Executive Chef Marlene Portillo will narrow down the entries to the top five finalists. Each finalist’s submission will be sampled and voted on by a panel of local celebrity/VIP judges. The champion will be determined by the celebrity judges’ combined scores.
All recipe entries must be emailed as a PDF file to sauceboss@halfmoonsportsgrill.com. Entry deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19. All recipes must be complete with ingredients and preparation instructions and should yield one gallon of wing sauce.
