The Second-Annual Phoenix Pizza Festival is set for 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at Margaret T. Hance Park, adjacent to Burton Barr Central Library at 1202 N. 3rd St. With limited tickets available, the inaugural Phoenix Pizza Festival sold out before the gates opened, and the event is on pace to repeat a similar sell-out.

Attendees will have access to approximately 15 pizza vendors, dessert food trucks, related food vendors and a full, park-filled festival. Pizza makers will serve $2-$4 slices, full pies, and everything in between. Some participants include: Fabio on Fire, La Piazza Al Forno PHX, Dang Brother, Dough Mama, Fireside Pizza, Lacy & Wendy’s, Nicastro’s, SuperFarm SuperTruck, Vicious Circle, Whiskey Ranch, and others. Craft beer and wine tasting stations, lawn games, and live bands will add to the pizza enjoyment.

Tickets are $10 and available online only at www.phoenix.pizza. For more information, call 480-442-9176.

Save room for dessert and head on over to the Roosevelt area to let your sweet tooth be satisfied with the seventh-annual Roosevelt Row Pie Social, celebrating community and pie in the courtyard of Phoenix Union Bioscience High School, 512 E Pierce St.

The Pie Social, which takes place from 2-5 p.m. also on Nov. 19, is all about pie sharing, featuring the culinary masterpieces of celebrity chefs and community members alike paired with live music, on-site screen printing by ACME Prints and cold glasses of milk from Danzeisen Dairy.

Bake up a storm and bring two pies (no pies that need refrigeration, such as cream pies, are permitted by home bakers), or pay $12, in exchange for five pie-tasting tickets. Proceeds benefit Bioscience’s after-school arts program. For more information, find them on Facebook at Roosevelt Row Pie Social.
