Old scars can’t mar the happy face of this 3-year-old black lab mix, whose sad past is ready to be left behind for a bright and loving future (submitted photo).

As sweet and friendly as 3-year-old Ace is, it is hard to imagine the circumstances that he came from. Confiscated by an Arizona Humane Society Emergency Animal Medical Technician for cruelty, the loving black Labrador retriever has come a long way and never wants to look back.

Handsome Ace was treated by AHS for several wounds that were left untreated by his previous owner but is now as healthy as ever and only looking forward to his bright future.

There is never a dull moment around the adorable Ace. Playing, being active and even more playing are his favorite ways to get out all of his pent up energy. Having an active family who would spend time with him on walks or hiking the trails of Arizona would be a great way for him to not only get his exercise but to bond with his favorite humans. As with most dogs, Ace’s favorite toy is a tennis ball. Fetch is his favorite game but he is still working on the bringing the ball back part.

Meet Ace at the Arizona Humane Society’s Sunnyslope Campus, located at 9226 N. 13th Ave. His adoption fee is $135 and includes microchip and vaccinations. For more information, call 602-997-7585 and ask for animal number A577668.

Please note: This pet might have been adopted by the time you visit the shelter, however AHS has dozens more wonderful pets who also need loving homes. To see all adoptable animals, visit www.azhumane.org/findapet.
