The “Second Saturday” event series returns to Uptown Plaza, 100 E. Camelback Road, beginning on Oct. 13. The shopping center will host rotating entertainment, dining and shopping elements, all for free. For October, visitors will enjoy free samples from Scoopwell and there will be little pumpkins for children to drawn on and take home (while supplies last). The event runs from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Each month several featured Uptown Plaza tenants will also host activities, sales, or samples in the courtyard to provide guests with a taste of all that the shopping center has to offer. Uptown Plaza is located on the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Camelback road, in the heart of Phoenix’s historic north-central neighborhood.

Over at the 19North Arts Plaza, last year’s Second Saturdays has morphed into 2nd Fridays, and the next event is set for Friday, Oct. 12. There will be food trucks, live music courtesy of Fervor Records, art activities for kids, a beer garden provided by North Mountain Brewing (21 and older), pets available for adoption, a classic car show, an art exhibit inside the 19North Arts Center, and more. Admission is free.

The event takes place from 6-9 p.m. in the courtyard of the Good Shepherd building at the northeast corner of 19th and Northern avenues. For more information, follow 19North on Facebook, or visit www.19north.org.
