The Great American Seed Up is once again setting up shop in Phoenix. The only “pop-up” seed market in Arizona returns Sept. 21-22 to the North Phoenix Baptist Church, 5757 N. Central Ave.

On Friday night, the award-winning film “Modified” will be screened, depicting the story of a mother and daughter who ask why genetically modified organisms are not labeled on food products in Canada and the United States, despite being labeled in 64 countries around the world. Seeds will be available for purchase from 5 to 9 p.m. and the movie will be shown at 6:30 p.m. with a Q&A afterward.

On Saturday, doors open at 10 a.m. and the event will run until 2 p.m. Workshops and presentations with seed experts will educate and inspire attendees with practical knowledge about the techniques and benefits of seed saving.

Registration is $7.50 per day, which covers entry fee, the movie or classes, and access to the Seed Room where seeds are available to purchase. Advance registration is required online at https://GreatAmericanSeedUp.org.
