On Saturday, Oct. 27 volunteers from across the Valley will unite for Make A Difference Day, one of the largest annual days of service nationwide. In North Central Phoenix, nonprofit WHEAT is seeking volunteers to help revamp its Clothes Silo, located at 4000 N. 7th St.

During this community event from 8 to 11 a.m., volunteers will help organize the space, taking out the summer clothes and replacing them with fall and winter items, getting the shoes in order, creating window displays, and maintaining an inviting atmosphere for WHEAT’s clients.

WHEAT’s dedicated volunteers and staff provide job-appropriate attire, mentoring and management training for economically disadvantaged women.

To sign up for Make A Difference Day, e-mail WHEAT’s Volunteer Coordinator Deidre Calhoun at Deidre.Calhoun@HungerHurts.org. For more information, call 602-955-5076.
