Healthy LifeStars, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping youth fight childhood obesity by promoting active, healthy lifestyles, announces its annual StepUp4KiDs StepAThon, set for April 21-27.

This fun event is designed to encourage children and adults to be healthy and active by walking the most steps for one consecutive week. Whether as a team, business or individual, participation is easy. Once registered for the StepAThon at https://healthylifestars.org/stepathon/, participants use a pedometer or other step-tracking device such as a Fitbit or phone app to track their daily steps and each day they log in to the Healthy LifeStars website to enter that day’s total steps.

Participants raise money by asking friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor their efforts or make a donation. Prizes will be awarded to the top 25 kids, top 3 adults and the top team to log the most steps during the week of the StepAThon.

Registration is only $25 per adult and free for participants 17 and younger and college students. The first 300 children (17 and under) to register will receive a free pedometer. The first-place kid winner will receive a bicycle and a medal.
