The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, 1221 N. 3rd Ave., presents its annual Children’s Day, 1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Children’s Day in Japan is a national holiday celebrating the healthy growth and happiness of children.

Enjoy a family-friendly day full of entertainment at the main stage, Taiko drumming and workshop, ice cream, a variety of hands-on kids activities, and more. There also will be a Hina Doll & Kabuto display, and kids will have the opportunity to take a fun selfie with the Japanese Friendship Garden’s mascot, “Shymon.”

Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. Admission is $7 adults, $6 seniors age 62 and older, and $5 for military and students with ID. Free for children ages 6 and younger. All-inclusive activity bands are available for $10.
