Walgreens announced recently it will expand drive-thru testing for the Coronavirus to 15 new sites in seven states, including Arizona. This expansion is a step forward in Walgreens’ collaboration with federal health agencies and state and local authorities.

The new testing will use Abbott’s new ID NOW COVID-19 test, which provides positive results in as little as five minutes and negative results within 13 minutes.

The 15 new testing locations are being finalized by Walgreens in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. They are planned for hot spot markets with increasing rates of COVID-19 cases. Walgreens plans to have the capability to test up to 3,000 people a day across these additional sites.
